We recently came across a few pictures on Facebook from a team of riders from Canada that go by the name Fondation la Force. It turns out these three machines are iron man athletes and their organization raises money to help fight Muscular Dystrophy. Not like competing in an iron man is hard enough, turns out they're doing this all on single speed Eastsides!  We've learned from one of the members that they recently competed in a half iron man and they'll be doing a full iron man in August! We love seeing stuff like this and are honored that our frames could help this team of riders out on their journey... Follow the link above for more images

A few months back when I was at the Detroit Bike Expo, I had the chance to meet Jason from a new electric bike company called Ride Scoozy. Electric bikes are hugely popular overseas and are really starting to gain traction here in the US. There's a lot of drama behind e-bikes right now because there are purists that call them mopeds and a lot people and trail managers that aren't sure what type of access e-bikes should have on both on and off road bike trails. I can see the point in both sides of the argument but right now it's a pretty hot topic.

Ride Scoozy is based out of Ann Arbor, MI and they make an e-bike that is affordable, fun to ride, easy to use and durable...

In honor of Wisconsin Bike Week we've partnered up with our new neighbors Colectivo Coffee and we're launching a special Fyxation blend of Colectivo coffee!  The crew at Colectivo will be donating 10% of the sale of It's a Fyxation coffee blend will be donated to the Wisconsin Bike Fed during Wisconsin Bike Week (June 6th - 13th). It's sort of like a mini version of the national Bike to Work week, but instead of just promoting cycling to work, Wisconsin Bike Week was designed to celebrate all things cycling here in Wisconsin and there are events throughout the week all over the state. This partnership with Colectivo...

We are pleased to announce that the Fyxation Open fixed gear street crit is back! After the huge success we had last year we've teamed up again with the guys at Prairie State Cycling and Inteligentsia Cup and this year's race will be bigger and better than last year.  The Fyxation Open is a true fixed gear criterium and is held on the same race course as the SRAM Chicago Criterium that is in the heart of downtown Chicago.  The race is located in an industrial parts of the city and takes place right outside the headquarters and brewing facility of Goose Island Brewing...

We recently hosted a fundraiser for Milwaukee's local community non-profit bike shop, Vulture Space, here at our new home in Riverwest. We've long been supporters of the guys at Vulture Space and when they reached out to us recently to see if we'd be interested in hosting their annual fundraiser, we were all in. We've had a few smaller functions at our space but the Vulture Space fund raiser really showed the full potential for our new shop. When we moved into our new location we realized...

Fyxation has been in business since June 2009 and we are humbled by all the support we've received over the years. As we've grown, we've had to move our offices a bunch of times and we recently completed our latest move when we relocated our office, design center, leather production and warehouse to a new location in the Riverwest neighborhood here in Milwaukee.

It's always been our goal to open a flagship store here in Milwaukee that we could use to show people our latest products..

This Friday we'll be hosting the second annual Art for Bike Sake fundraiser for Vulture Space here at our new shop. This event is a fundraiser for Milwaukee's community bike shop, Vulture Space, and there will be a ton of great bicycle themed art available for purchase. Full details are below and a few teaser pics of some of the great artwork that will be available for sale...

When we launched the Six Fyx conversion kit we were excited to see what types of bikes people would start converting over into six speed road bikes. So far we haven't been disappointed and this latest six speed conversion from Ian in San Francisco is worthy of a quick blog post.  Ian just sent over these great pictures and a quick review about his experience converting his Mercier Kilo TT single speed bike into a six speed road bike to help him navigate the hilly streets of San Francisco. Thanks Ian!

"I've been running my '09 Mercier Kilo TT as a singlespeed freewheel bike for years, but frustrated with the need to flip flop my track wheel to the larger sprocket side just to climb hills...so I bought the Six Fyx conversion kit as soon as I found out about it...
