The Fyxation Comet was purpose built to go fast! Light weight hydroformed 6061 alloy tubing and feathery full carbon fork make the Comet ready for race day or slipping through traffic. Stiff and efficient Matador Comp track cranks push power to 16T rear cog. We round out the Comet's performance with sealed bearing hubs, crank and oversized headset.

Quality bike for a good price

Was very easy to assemble, probably 1hr from unboxing to riding. Be ready to adjust brakes, mine also needed chain tension loosened up. If basic adjustments aren't your thing your friendly local bike shop could knock this out in less than 30 minutes. The fit and finish is excellent! The aluminum frame joints are so well finished it looks like 1 piece carbon fiber. The included seat is excellent so I won't be swapping it out as I almost always do on new bikes. The same with the handlebars! ...well wrapped and a very comfortable shallow drop and short reach. The 1st ride. Quick handling, inspiring acceleration, extremely quiet (part of riding a good fixie). It's the kind of bike that inspires speed and the meditative quality of riding fixed/single speed bike. A very big plus is I'm confident the frame will accommodate 32mn tires, and may be able to squeeze in 35mm, (I'll report back once I try them). On broken roads like Michigan has, wide tires are more way more comfortable, safer because of better traction with properly low pressures, and faster because your energy is used to go forward, NOT up and down. Would I buy this bike again if stolen?... most definitely! The 56cm frame fit my 5' 10.5" frame well, but be ready to feel a short track inspired frame geometry. I could have easily fit the 58cm frame but would have lost the track spirit this track frame has. But I will fit a 2" longer stem to restore my comfortable reach. The wheels are just slightly out of true but have no negative effects on braking or ride, and again would only take a LBS mechanic 5 minutes to complete truing. The stem must have been damaged at the factory, yet I'm totally confident customer service will quickly send a new one.

Fit and quality

The frame has very smooth joints and finish looking great. The company was very responsive in sending the bike quickly and fixing a problem with a brake lever. The drop handlebars are very narrow about 40 cm for the 52 cm size frame having little leverage. I will end up replacing them. I’d encourage selecting the rise bars to get wider bars with more leverage to power a single gear over hills. Also if you’re near the top height for a frame size it will probably be easier on the back to get the rise bars. The frame has a of high bottom bracket for cornering with a fixed gear giving it a higher stand over height. The rims have textured sides giving the brake good grip. It’s a fine bike just study the fit of frame and bar size carefully.

how does my bike ship?

Our complete bikes ship via UPS Ground in a well padded professional bike box. Orders that arrive by 2 p.m. CST weekdays ship same day. you can track your bike online or through the Shop App.

The bikes ship 95% assembled and you'll simply need a few tools to get your bike built up and on the road. As always, we recommend taking your bike to your local bike shop to get it built up properly.
