Built around a simple and reliable Shimano 3 speed hub with an easy to use twist shifter, this bike features elegant 1 color paint and simple styling. Finished off by matching painted fenders, painted chain guard and a built in rack, this bike is perfect for any city.

what size bike?

We recommend that you size your bike based on your height and inseam. This insures you have proper clearance over the top tube, and the other fit dimension's will fall in line. Bright Red Beauty!

I require a bike that provides an easy “step through “ to mount and dismount and this Third Ward bike does just that. I like the simplicity of three gears since I will be riding on flat bike trails. Most of all I appreciate that due to the minimal reach handlebars, I can sit up straight and do not need to put pressure on my hands. I am a 72 yo, vertically challenged woman (small size frame works very well) and chose the bright red color because it reminds me of my very first bike. The bike came with a nice loud bell to warn others to get out of the way!

So far so good. Overall quality is pretty decent. Bike came with a few blemishes but otherwise is comfortable and easy to ride. Fyxation gave a slight discount and was easy and straightforward to work with.

Quality bicycle for a reasonable price

We've purchased 2 of the Third Ward bicycles now; one for my daughter and then the most recent one is my wife's new bike. These bikes were clearly designed and built by people who know what they are doing; the bikes themselves are kept simple but the components used are quite impressive. In these bikes, you are getting the same Shimano 3 speed hub you would get on a much more expensive bike. One complaint they've had is that the seat itself isn't the most comfortable, but this is something that is easily upgraded later. Additionally, I wish the front sprocket was compatible with a full coverage "chain case" as is typical on dutch commuter bikes, but this particular design (kind of a domed cage) seems to prevent that. It's easy to add accessories to these to make them practical commuters; for example on my wife's we've added a cafe lock, double kickstand, and a dynamo to power lights (from hollandbikeshop.com). My feeling after purchasing, assembling, and riding these bikes for a few months now is that this was money well spent. There is an excellent ratio of quality to price in these bikes. One other thing that was impressive was shipping... both bikes that we ordered came VERY quickly after the order was placed.

Great Around Town Bike

My Third Ward bike is stylish as well as functional. I use it to bike to work as well as my weekend Farmer’s Market run. I ordered my bike on a Saturday and had it shipped to a local bike shop. I was rolling on Thursday afternoon. The folks at Fyxation are awesome!

how does my bike ship?

Our complete bikes ship via UPS Ground in a well padded professional bike box. Orders that arrive by 2 p.m. CST weekdays ship same day. You can track your bike online or through the Shop App.

The bikes ship 95% assembled and you'll simply need a few tools to get your bike built up and on the road. As always, we recommend taking your bike to your local bike shop to get it built up properly.
