Fat Bike Group Ride 2017 Kick Off
Our inaugural fat bike group ride of 2017 rolled out of Fyxation HQ last Sunday with unseasonably warm temperatures. Once again a great group gathered with new and familiar faces were ready to ride no matter what the conditions.
With the sun shining and temps of 38 degrees we made our way down to the beach through the city. This short ride to Lake Michigan brought us down the frozen sand, which is fast and fun.
My favorite part about these group rides has got to be all the smiles. I don't know if it was optimism for the afternoon's Packer playoff game or the warm winter day, but everyone was having fun.
While the snow had receded, the cold temperatures mean we still have plenty of ice here on the Lake. As we approached McKinley marina we could hear the sound of motorcycles with studs doing practice laps for the upcoming Mama Tried show. That's a good sign that the ice was thick enough for those of us that wanted to give our studded tires a workout.
With a playoff game on the horizon our group headed back along the lake shore and past the Milwaukee Art Museum. The Calatrava designed building, always a great spot for a photo opp, was in great form as the low Winter and clear ice of the harbor lit it up brightly.
These group rides will go on all Winter long so keep an eye our our Milwaukee Shop Facebook Page and join us on the next one!
