Beergardening: Milwaukee County Parks Custom Bike

Milwaukee may be best know for it's beer, but after visiting our city the vast Milwaukee County Park system stays etched in most peoples minds. Milwaukee's reputation in brewing stems from a long German heritage in the city and in recent years the County Parks have embraced the German beer garden tradition by adding beer gardens to several parks. We now are fortunate enough to have five permanent beer gardens and thirteen travelling beer gardens that pop up in parks through Milwaukee.

Winding through many of the parks are bike paths and bike routes and ending a ride with a stop at a beer garden is a welcome Summer activity. When were asked to partner with the Parks to design a bicycle that would be a raffle prize for the traveling beer gardens we couldn't wait to get started.

The design incorporates four shades of green which represent the variety of flora found throughout the park system. The oak leaf, a symbol of the parks and of the 100 mile Oak Leaf Trail is featured prominently in the design. We topped of the design with the travelling beer garden's #beergardening tag on the chainstay.

The bike will be revealed at the Kletzsch Park travelling beer garden on June 7th at 4 p.m. with Milwaukee County Parks, Sprecher Brewery, the Friends of Kletzsch Park and Fyxation.
