Going Bike Camping
Here at Fyxation we are fans of all forms of biking. Most people think of us as a "fixie" company because we make colorful urban cycling parts and we offer our Eastside as a single speed with a flip flop hub. While it's true that we cater to the fixed gear market, we also have a diverse line up of products that can be used by many different types of riders. The reason for this is that the founders of Fyxation have more than just fixies in their garage.
We got our start riding our BMX bike back in our neighborhood in Detroit and eventually migrated to mountain biking when we moved to Wisconsin in the 90's. Right now our stable of bikes is pretty diverse and includes mountain bikes, road bikes (using our Quiver frameset of course), singlespeed bikes and a few top secret Fyxation projects.
Our Quiver frameset is in our opinions the most versatile and affordable steel frameset on the market right now. Add in our removable derailleur hanger, removable cable stops and ED coating, this frameset is a great platform for many types of builds. I personally have mine set up as a 2x10 steel road bike running SRAM Apex and our 700x28c Session 700 tires.
Our latest creation was built up for a friend of ours and is in our opinion, our best custom bike build yet. This bike features our only (for now) burnt orange Quiver frameset, Salsa Woodchipper bars and a host of other parts that turn this into a great adventure rig. This bike is at home as a gravel grinder or touring bike as well. Bike camping is gaining in popularity and if these pictures don't convince you to try it I don't know what will.
